As much as they suck the life outta ya, they are still my everything:) I can’t stop watching this video. When we had our first one almost 7 years ago I disappeared from all my social circles… I wouldn’t change anything. Hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever gone through by just being a dad #betterthanpainting #blessed
#wip step4: listen to plenty of hardcore rap music, like you hear right here, while making your creation come to life, it’s not only groovy but keeps you cool with all the hip kids . #truestory
Step 3 #wip : draw and redraw till it’s where I want it to be. I generally start with a loose sketch of ideas. After I have my notes and lines down, I then seek out some reference photos to make sure I have patterns and textures where they make sense, like in the case of these birds, I wanted to make them Vermillion Flycatchers, I needed to look at the reference photos to get there feather patterns and colors correct. I posed my wife holding a key I made to see how the light would react and drew that first, then added the rest. The initial idea is the most important part to me, loose, messy, but gets the point across. You can learn and teach technique, but the initial inspiration part is something that has puzzled me my entire life and one I can never seem to answer…
